The full game with every rule — castling, en passant, promotion and every kind of draw. Play a friend on one device, or take on the computer at three strengths. Legal moves light up as you pick a piece, and the game saves itself as you go.
How to play

Pick your opponent
Pass the device between two players, or play the computer as white, black or a random side.

Move a piece
Tap a piece to see where it can go, then tap a highlighted square. Only legal moves are allowed.

Protect your king
Check is marked on the board. Get out of it by moving, blocking or capturing — if you can't, it's checkmate.
- 4
Win, draw or resign
Checkmate wins. Stalemate, repetition, the fifty-move rule and bare kings are draws. Undo and resign are always one tap away.
